After graduating art history at the Catholic University in Louvain (Belgium) Biljana studied film anthropology at EPHE and drama at Jacque Lecoq School in Paris. She is the author of several video installations, short, feature and documentary films, video works and performances and worked as first director’s assistant to the famous Yugoslavian documentary director Želimir Žilnik. She founded an independent production company, Wake Up Films in order to support new talents from the region.
Biljana programmed for Free Zone FF in Belgrade until 2017. In 2018, she founded the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator, a new platform for women filmmakers.
She is alumna of EURODOC and Producers on the Move, a member of DAE, EWA and EFA.
Her recent feature documentary When Pigs Come (2018) won awards and was screened in Sarajevo, Hot Docs, Vision du Reel, among many other festivals. Her next feature documentary Paper Boats Floating into the Fragrant Night will be released in 2021.
Luka graduated on Academy of Arts Novi Sad on module Production for Audiovisual Media. During his studies, he directed and produced several student short films, and grew a great passion for digital arts and animated formats.
In 2019, he became part of the EURODOC session in Novi Sad as an organization intern. Now, he works as a junior producer at Wake Up Films on several projects in different production stages, and as a coordination assistant at CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator.
